POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Consultant or Senior Engineer role at Danovo Energy Solutions is a key technical position for skilled professionals dedicated to project success and industry recognition. In this role, you will lead engineering teams, providing strategic guidance while conducting complex technical and economic calculations with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include developing project scopes, estimating task durations, and ensuring timely delivery of results.
You will conduct power system studies using tools like PSCAD/EMTDC, PSS/E, PSLF, and RTDS HIL testing. A strong background in power systems is essential, including experience with inverter-based resources, Battery Energy Storage Systems, and both induction and synchronous machines. Familiarity with grid-following and grid-forming controls is also required. Your role will involve validating system analysis and evaluating designs based on study outcomes, blending technical expertise with leadership in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct power system analysis and generator interconnection studies that align with client specifications for reliability, regulation, and quality.
- Utilize industry-specific software tools, including PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP-RV, RSCAD, PSS/E, CYMDIST, Synergi, and ASPEN for modeling and impact assessment.
- Independently develop and manage project schedules, effectively tracking actions, issues, risks, and decisions.
- Mentor and guide less experienced consultants, offering constructive feedback for performance evaluations.
- Identify client challenges and business opportunities, effectively communicating insights to management.
- Maintain a proactive approach to customer needs, welcoming new challenges and sharing innovative solutions.
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Deliver high-quality technical content efficiently and meet project deadlines.

Required QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical engineering or a relevant technical field.
- Technical expertise in at least one area of the utility industry as demonstrated by previous project experience.
- 4-6 years of experience and demonstrated success in power system studies depending upon the education and experience.

- Knowledge of industry standards, including IEEE 1547, IEEE 519, IEEE 2800, and California Rule 21.
- Hands-on experience with power systems software tools, including PSCAD/EMTDC, EMTP-RV, RSCAD, PSS/E, CYMDIST, Synergi, and ASPEN, for comprehensive modeling and impact assessment
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Professional Engineer license or eligibility for license.
- ABET-accredited engineering degree
- Experience with CHIL and PHIL testing.
- Experience with interconnection applications for the ISOs and NERC reliability standards
- Experience with distributed energy resource (DER) integration studies, microgrid design and studies.
Systems & Skills
- S-Strong understanding of power system protection principles.
- Proficient in using TSAT for system analysis and modeling.
